Eivør Pálsdottír is one of the Faroe Islands’ most popular exports. A singer, songwriter, multi instrumentalist from the small fisherman village of Syðrugøta with a population of just over 400 people, Eivør is now heading to the homes of millions across the globe as the vocalist in the Sony Playstation flagship game, God of War.After years successfully touring Europe, during which she released 9 studio albums, Eivør broke through the UK market in 2017 following the release of her record Slør, culminating in two sold out tours and an appearance on the prestigious Late Night with Jools Holland stage where she performed the fan favourite, Trøllabundin. If you’re familiar with the track you will understand why, upon hearing it, composer Bear McCreary didn’t think twice before getting in touch with the Faroese musician to invite her to record a number of cues for the new God of War soundtrack. So in early 2016, Eivør crossed the Atlantic to work with the composer and was further invited to perform at the Sony E3 Press Conference accompanied by a 64-piece orchestra and a 12-men choir. The event was live-streamed to millions of God of War fans worldwide.Eivør is also co-composing the score to the Netflix series The Last Kingdom with award-winning composer John Lunn Downton Abbey) and her vocals and drum feature across all three seasons. Other works include Game Of Thrones. In other news, Eivør has recently signed with Reynolds Management (The Killers, Imagine Dragons) so it won’t be long until she’s taking over North American audiences!
