Helloooo and sorry for the brief radio silence, it’s been SO ridiculously busy, LOTS going on and we’ll tell you all about it! At least as much as we’re allowed =)
A couple of weeks ago we had our favourite Faorese, Eivør, over in London to play at Selfridges’ UltraLounge. For those of you unaware of this weekly event, Music Matters is a 10-week campaign the Oxford Store megastore has been doing promoting independent live music with weekly shows and they’ve got this stunning 360˚ stage with screens all around that makes the gig experience even more special than it already is – especially when it comes to Eivør, if we may say so ourselves 😉
Fast forward to this week and we bring you Jess Thristan’s brand new debut album! Well, kinda.
Jess is releasing “This is Home” track by track on a weekly basis with an acoustic video out on Monday and the full song following on the Friday on all digital platforms and today marks the release of the first one, “I Say Yeah”, a very emotional yet uplifting song about letting go of trivial concerns because there’s so much more to life. It was written by an incredible trio made up of Steve Chrisanthou (Lianne La Havas, Paloma Faith), John Beck (Corinne Bailey Rae, Will Young) and Katie Sutherland.
You can follow Jess on all socials to keep up-to-date with this special release.
Last night I popped by shesaid.so + Flexx‘s Summer Soirée at the Boiler Room TV‘s with the loveliest A&GSync‘s Zoe where we had a really great night meeting and catching up with a bunch of other cool music ladies and sipping the most delicious whisky mixers courtesy of 808 Drinks and a bang on DJ set.
If you’re not yet aware of shesaid.so, I strongly suggest you head over to their website and find out more about this network of women in music. We need more of this!! Come join us!
And instead of making a playlist this week (I know, I know, it’s been THREE…it’ll come back!! Theme suggestion? We’ve got a few ideas…), we’re sharing Tileyard’s #NewMusicFriday tunes. As we’ve mentioned a few times, Tileyard Studios is this creative industries hub between Camden and Kings Cross home to a shitload of cool companies, many of them on the music side, and the people of Tileyard have an ongoing playlist where they constantly add new releases coming from our little hub here.
You can follow it too right here:
That’s it from us now, it’s almost time to close shop and ride off into the weekend sunset.
Whatever you do, have a great weekend and don’t be good to the world!
